Poland has long viewed the US favourably, but recent changes have made many question whether the US is more of a threat than a friend. For more sceptical European nations and the EU, it could take years for the US to regain its reputation as a trustworthy partner. This is truly disheartening.

Why English, though? Shouldn't it be 'American' to stay consistent with what happened to the Gulf? Doesn't that make the U.S. look subservient? Asking for a friend.
