I'm all about my hobbies: video games, comics, manga, TV shows, etc..
And I like to get my thoughts out about them, so here I am. I also really like writing fiction.
I'm currently in the "Choosing My Peace" arc of my life.
Me when it happens

Fuck it who cares, I'm getting the bugs out of my brain.
New comics this week I like:
VIKING MOON: Awesome start! Reminds me of Manifest Destiny mixed w/ a bit of Ragnarök.
ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN #11: Kelly Thompson has made hellish deals for the power she holds. This run is CRIMINALLY good.

Convo w/ gf about Rogue Prince of Persia.

I lied. My other critiques are that the story feels like it's missing some meat to better explain the awakening stones, who is Paachi, and several other mysteries. I hope that we'll get some DLC to clear up the confusion soon.

Ty to Rogue Prince of Persia for infecting my brain w/ the banger that is that main theme song.
"What the future holds...
... he won't knooooww..."

Oh I'm gonna read the hell out of this.

Otr ain't bad! Little generic, but given how few generic Shonen stories play their tropes straight in a way that's earnest and respectful of the genre's trope history nowadays, the fact that this one is straightforward ain't bad. Hopefully it doesn't get axed like Red Hood.
Solid 7/10 starter.

Comic book writers & artists continue to be of a different breed.

A lot of good press about Absolute Batman and Absolute Wonder Woman-- as there should be, because they're amazing books-- but not enough about Absolute Superman.
Written by Thor writer Jason Aaron. Art by the incomparable Rafa Sandoval. Superman w/ a new take. And it is *phenomenal*.

This comes across as an odd comparison since Absolute Batman outselling mainline Batman is a testament to how fans want a new twist on old tropes executed by a good team of writers and artists. I'm not necessarily *for* Pete and MJ, but USM was a fresh take on an old classic. That's all people want.

Still bummed that Warren Ellis turned out to be guilty of SA and being a general weirdo since he was a writer that I looked up to for the longest, along with Neil Gaiman-- which was legitimately devastating to discover. For me, it's like being told that Superman was guilty of SA.

Man.

Completely warranted response, even if it's a volatile one.
Sure, some of us can say that we didn't vote for him, but it matters very little now. His presence is emblematic of a larger, more deeply-rooted and pervasive issue that our country is not ready to/refuses to address. But we persevere.

This business with Bioware, EA, and the future of Dragon Age has me depressed, so I thought, "Let me go back and reread the old books, then play Origins and 2 again just to see if it all still holds up."
Opened back up The Calling and uh. YEAH. YEAH IT STILL HOLDS UP.

I think that it would have been a bit difficult to implement in terms of scenario writing and how far the gameplay might diverge, but it would've been cool if who accompanies you from the Druid's Grove in BG3 Act 1 depends on player choice and whether they would want to, i.e.: Halsin or Kagha.

Finally managed to show my gf Return of the King.
I've introduced her to Final Fantasy, UC Gundam, D&D, CSB, and so much other stuff over the years, and she's come to love all of it in her own way.

I feel like I'm corrupting her in the best possible way.

Pic is not relevant, but I love it so here.

Bioware: "Hey, you know that one faction that a major character has already correctly characterized as being a clandestine cabal of human & sex trafficking, politically destabilizing assassins? Wouldn't it be cool if the player could be one of them?"

Addendum: I know it's not this simple and that the actual reasoning for the writing being so toothless compared to its predecessors and contemporaries isn't as simple as "executive meddling," but I also know that while it's not the whole problem, it is a contributing factor.
