For sure, refs are great for helping get through a tricky drawing. But the real gold is in occasionally doing varied kinds of reference studies. Not as fun and definitely like doing homework but even a handful of small studies helps improve your visual library a ton, gives you more to draw from.

Oh yeah, I did a lil post about em on FA. The one on the left is from an old AV piece I did, the one on the right is from an unposted doodle (posted on FA the other day). Middle one is new for this pic, since it was originally just gonna be her with a random micro.
