I just flew back to my teenage self spinning the LP (and then had to look for a version on YT as 55 year old me).

Thanks!

Ben Mulroney will forever be E-talk host to me.

Like John Roberts will forever be JD Roberts, MuchMusic VJ, to me.

I wish they both just stuck to those things and disappeared into the sunset.

and the Liberals took responsibility for this incredibly stupid move. Rota resigned for inviting Hunka, apologies all around to Jewish communities, and Trudeau stood up and said this was a mistake of deep "embarrassment to Parliament and Canada".

Do you think it will be the same with the CPC here?

oh gawd, I can see Bob Zimmer, my MP, leaning into this and I can't watch any more.

also, didn't she say something about "win with persuasion, not intimidation"?

I've heard Kirk and his podcast. Intimidation with words was his game, particularly for marginalized and vulnerable people and groups.

I knew about the book, but I didn't know about the new pod! Looking forward to it, even though I'm neither a mom nor dad, and my understanding of fascism is still weak. I'm up for learning more from what I hope is a "explain it to me like I'm a 'tween" level 😆 - good luck with the pod!

holy fuck, indeed.

Bet he's pro-life... oh wait, pro-birth... too.

I don't understand how so many Americans are just living with their current reality.

My husband and I donated our Galen Weston $25 Loblaws gift cards, what feels like years ago (I guess it was?), to a youth breakfast program in our community. They were happy to take them.

I'm signing up and will do the same or similar again with the actual settlement cash. Or gift cards.

somewhat related: the ostriches are still going, Derek, and your 'friends' won't let it go. :)

yet another court stay at the Federal Court of Appeals in Canada - CFIA has to respond today, and the owners need to respond by tomorrow.

3/ coming from my friend who is immunocompromised like I am, for almost as long as I have been (decades for both of us, both in our early 50's), it's a little shocking to have to keep pointing out the benefits of vaccines.

2/ I got Covid in July from another colleague. My friend exclaimed, "I thought you weren't supposed to get Covid with all those boosters! This seems useless."

Me: "well, I just was in bed for a couple of days and not in the hospital."

Her: "oh, yeah, true."

We need more reminders and education.

what happened to Newfoundland?

Also, living in northern B.C., I had no idea we had so many 'secret' bases. I guess that's the point? LOL

oooh, we're going to Australia in November to visit an elderly aunt of my husband's, since she is the closest living relative to the two of us now.

I am looking forward to this episode, just for a different context from, oh, kangaroos, koalas, giant spiders and surfing.

Cheap EVs mean the cost is offset somewhere else, at the cost of human labour and the environment.

I'd rather see China invest in building "reasonably priced" EVs here.

it definitely got prematurely dark this evening.

Must have been that bear I saw earlier, puffing a few packs in the woods by our house.

your comment just took me down the Piraro rabbit hole. And it was a good time amongst so much bad time.

This one made me LOL because we have experienced these people, if not know them.

AI don't pay taxes, and neither does its (their?) tech bro billionaires.

Just the peasants.... so they need us around to, I dunno, do the dusting of the AI and crypto farms.

no, what YOU believe is ignorant as fuck.

As someone who has been involved in animal welfare AND has done my time in emergency response, people like you who "shame and blame" help no one nor any animals in crises. People like me and AW organizations are there to help.

So either help or shut up.
