I've used Ghostty for the better part of a year, tried many tools and learned a lot as a developer, I found all the features of Ghostty and its whole aesthetic attractive but now testing emulators like Wezterm, Kitty or Allacrity, Ghostty is actually the worst in terms of rendering

I have a lot of writing drafted for this new year I'm just flooded with work because I have to study my exams, so WHEN (self reassuring) I get my good grades I'll be publishing these as I finish them

If you don't wanna miss anything, link to my mail list substack below so you can subscribe

the stack of tools people use to do work as a developer must be open source

it's ok if there are closed source alternatives that you prefer

but things get bad when that becomes the only option

Glad to announce I'm finally joining Github Sponsors! And what better welcome gift than getting my first monthly supporter @zanca.dev, thanks a lot and hope y'all like my current and future projects 🫡

5 days into 2026 I've already made 7% of the github contributions I made in 2025 simply because I finally got the habit of making small clear purpose commits following conventional message format instead of one with thousands of changes after 8h of coding lmfao

A very likely scenario is that with AI destroying its own sources of knowledge and simultaneously a lot of the internet’s content being AI generated, the inbreeding in the training of new AIs could actually become the plateau or even degradation of their capabilities
This chart shows the total number of Stack Overflow questions asked each month. As you can see, AI summaries in Google and AI coding tools have nearly killed the site. It is only a matter of time before the site shuts down completely. The golden age of independent web is over.

it's so easy to make an opinionated tool

of course you can make a great experience for someone while eliminating 99% of the market

it's way harder to figure out how not to have an opinion

There is now an official Roadmap for Sentinel!
Reminder that contributions are more than welcome, I started the project recently due to pain points I found in other tools so I hope this one can become a great solution for devs and devops: github.com/4ster-light/...

Modern Python tooling and ecosystem, hatch, uv, ruff, ty, pytest, typer, soon pyx, and many more, genuinely have better DX and are a much better ecosystem overall than JavaScript’s or Rust’s (this last one is hardly comparable due to the different domains but you get the idea)

Nace facelift came out of just wanting to change the theme due to the change of pfp jajaja (notice too the change in code blocks)

Ngl I’m switching to Proton Pass from Bitwarden because of this, I already use Proton VPN in Vivaldi so I’d like to try more of their stuff
Worried that changing over to Proton Pass would be a lot of work? We've got you.

Start 2026 off right by heading to Settings > Import and switch to the end-to-end encrypted password manager trusted by millions.
