Bitburgers winterbok. An excellent beer, reminiscent of a classic Belgian triple, minus the sugars they use nowadays. At 7%, packs a punch too.

A fine bitburger Winterbock. Taste is reminiscent of a good Belgian triple, minus all the sugars they use nowadays. Nice clean taste, at 7% , packs a punch too.

Whisky marmalade time, just omit the water in recipe and add any old whisky you have. Delicious on buttered toast. I once used laphroag and it was divine but I can't afford that every time. Works well with a cheap blend too...the alcohol evaporates leaving just the taste.

You rarely see Oettingers beers on social media. I must say 10,99 euros for 20 reinheitsgebot beers it is great value. Whilst not being a schneider, its a decent beer. Produced without sugars or inferior ingredients.

My last October fest beer.I go from Brussels to Aachen for my beers, normally they have Paulaner, this time they had the Spaten. My case of 20 is now gone. A great beer, I'd buy it again this year.

I do have this Bersalis 8.5 % triple inbthe cellar. No sugars mentioned. Very drinkable too. This may show a good triple can be brewed without syrups or excessive use of sugars.

inside Fort Mutzig, near Strasbourg. Built by Kaiser Wilhelm II between 1883 and 1916. It covers 628 acres, most is underground. It was the first fortification that was electrified. It was manned by 7,000 people in 1914. The French later copied the design for the Maginot Line forts.
