Privilege. We thought we are invincible…That we’re entitled…Only to find out we were just privileged.

Saw my first Rickey Rally at the old ballpark in Arlington. Think it was Terry Matthews twirling for TEX. No HR could match the excitement or anticipation of Henderson leading off base.

So when mass shootings of average people and school children occurs, it's all "there's nothing we can do, these things just happen" but when a CEO gets shot, we need a special hotline, new safety protocols, and to lock up housewives over frustrated phone conversations.

Got it.

Michigan just finished their worst season in ten years and still returned home to a standing ovation because they beat Ohio State and these are the things we have to keep alive as every other shred of meaning is stripped away from the sport

If Twitter has “superior ownership” over accounts wouldn’t that make them legally liable for things that are said and done there?
New: Musk's X filed a highly unusual objection in The Onion's bid to buy InfoWars, arguing that X has “superior ownership” of all accounts on X and shouldn't be given to The Onion. A stark reminder you do not own your social media accounts, political move www.404media.co/xs-objection...

Social media is in desperate need of innovation. Meta is only letting you have a slice of control over what you see because Bluesky is here building for you.
We wrote on Saturday about how Meta is going all-out to meet the threat of Bluesky: wapo.st/3OrYxBj

Today they took another step— finally allowing users to set their default feeds to a chronological “following” feed.

Ok what’s up BlueSky let’s see if you have any connections: just finished the final edits on a novel I’ve been working on for 2+ years.

It’s quasi-historical fiction and it’s about a Hobo Baseball league, spanning 1972-2017

Anyone know any literary agents who would be interested in taking a look?

Every time this has been tested it’s been a phenomenal success.

Give money to people who need money. Give jobs to people who need jobs.
Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing.

They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays.

The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k.
