I feel like I've done an ok job cutting out what I'm not capable of &focusing on what I am, style wise. like leaning into my natural inclinations toward scratchy lines. in fact getting good at lines and almost entirely giving up on color is something I never could have imagined in the past lol

this is so excellent. your detailed style of shading and backgrounds works well with the more anime faces in the style of the characters you're adopting here. I love how the wind is present in every panel, until it calms down and becomes still when aether goes for the hug
