I spent the last week travelling from Ypres to Normandy visiting WW1 cemetries, trenches and monuments, and the D-Day cemetries, monuments and beaches. I had never before fully appreciated the scale of the sacrifice made by these people from all over the world. In their memory we should wage peace.
