Thats the front plate ,back plate,ribs and fibreglass antenna support done just the outer band and mid band to fit and the ultralight dish frame is complete and ready for the mesh .jiuggling between 2 masts and the dish at the moment seems to be taking forever 🤨

Its been a long time getting here but at LAST ive managed to get a RX signal or 2 off the moon on 1296mhz ,still a very long way to go but at least now theres light at the end of the tunnel.,get a bit of the clutter off the boom and try that i think next

"FINALLY" im moving foward getting on 23cm,just finished 2x23ele ants as a temporary measure until my dish is eventually finished, just a bit of finishing around the D/E's !.its been over 12 months since i started to build them ,had to go to plan B.....TBC.....

last night was the first clear night ive had with some free time for ages so i got the seestar out on M42 ,its the orion nebula that first started my interest in astro photography.

it would have nipped a bit if they were in the wrong place ,1 sheared off and one bedded well in .

Had a bit of a play with the WX sats this evening had to hand chase them with my 144/432 sat antenna after snagging one of the reflectors off my crossed dipoles rushing to get it up in the air in the rain earlier ,makes me think about building one for 137 and putting it on the yaesu g5500

switched the Rx over to msk144 lunchtime whilst i was otherwise engaged sorting the cables out ready for the weather RX and repairing some ageing damage from the weather to the 17 element GTV ,good luck to all who are playing

same for me now colin 😀 after a great delivery service from #m1geo and chris .
A loop has been on my curiosity list for a while now ! hopefully build it over xmas ive some 10mm coax with a single core that i think that ill try first .see if its stiff enough and how well it works and go from there

something else to fix🙄 thought id have a play today with HF as storm darragh is keeping the vhf/uhf ant's on the ground ....... switched on earlier and found high swr across all the bands ,must be from last storm ..... hey ho onwards and upwards .looks like 10m was/is ok though !

Still to build a full qrp labs rx,/tx kit plus full bandpass filters as a rainy day project after getting qrv on 23cm eme

Help and advice needed again please ,i read somewhere that the best dish f/d for using a septum was 0.37 but cant find it again"NOW" to those with knowledge of such things is this the minmum ?as on checking mine is now 0.46 despite forming ribs to 0.38 ,should i take apart and reform

i feel your pain 😆 mine is just for 23cms though.mind i do have a vague fascination with the H line 🤔

after last storm "aslea" its both masts down today just in case.main vhf comes down and over with anthing above 50mph gusts but normally leave the sat/eme standing .74mph on the nose was just too much for it with the mk1 fibreglass booms hopefully the mk2 will hold up better "if they ever needed to.
