Thats the front plate ,back plate,ribs and fibreglass antenna support done just the outer band and mid band to fit and the ultralight dish frame is complete and ready for the mesh .jiuggling between 2 masts and the dish at the moment seems to be taking forever 🤨

Its been a long time getting here but at LAST ive managed to get a RX signal or 2 off the moon on 1296mhz ,still a very long way to go but at least now theres light at the end of the tunnel.,get a bit of the clutter off the boom and try that i think next

I am an amateur radio operator who maintains the real-time HF+ and VHF propagation sites.
The HF map has two modes: global activity per band and propagation unique to the user's location.
The VHF map is useful for showing areas of enhanced propagation, typically tropospheric ducting.

Thats me content again for the time being , mast back up and antennas pointing in the general direction of "ok" no more fibreglass booms though "leasons learned" i do find welding aluminium to be the "spawn of the devil though",space on this one to accept the 2x23ele new yagis on a FG spreader "TBC"

Friday, 6th of June 2025, 81st anniversary of D-Day. Remember that today as you read about the latest political storm-in-a-teacup, influencer controversy or even Ukraine. This was bigger and the echoes still ring down the years. As Tom Hanks said in "Saving Pvt. Ryan", "Earn it."
"FINALLY" im moving foward getting on 23cm,just finished 2x23ele ants as a temporary measure until my dish is eventually finished, just a bit of finishing around the D/E's !.its been over 12 months since i started to build them ,had to go to plan B.....TBC.....

last night was the first clear night ive had with some free time for ages so i got the seestar out on M42 ,its the orion nebula that first started my interest in astro photography.

"WELL" what a day yesterday was 🙄after moving the WX x dipole to try better reception ,i put it on the main tropo mast in the clear after removing the 2m and 70 cm yagi's for a well deserved refurb .i thought id extend the mast up to full height ,JUST before it got there the winch wire SNAPPED 🙈🙈

Had a bit of a play with the WX sats this evening had to hand chase them with my 144/432 sat antenna after snagging one of the reflectors off my crossed dipoles rushing to get it up in the air in the rain earlier ,makes me think about building one for 137 and putting it on the yaesu g5500

switched the Rx over to msk144 lunchtime whilst i was otherwise engaged sorting the cables out ready for the weather RX and repairing some ageing damage from the weather to the 17 element GTV ,good luck to all who are playing

something else to fix🙄 thought id have a play today with HF as storm darragh is keeping the vhf/uhf ant's on the ground ....... switched on earlier and found high swr across all the bands ,must be from last storm ..... hey ho onwards and upwards .looks like 10m was/is ok though !

it is 😉im setting a dedicated RX shack up in the cupboard next to the shack cupboard ,i grew up as a swl from a young lad so its in my roots my dad was mad keen all his life so grew up with radios ,i often imagine just how he'd be now with all this hf to eme and antennas here no doubt looking down

it is 😉im setting a dedicated RX shack up in the cupboard next to the shack cupboard ,i grew up as a swl from a young lad so its in my roots my dad was mad keen all his life so grew up with radios ,i often imagine just how he'd be now with all this hf to eme and antennas here no doubt looking down
looking for advice please ,my luggs (ears) are shot to bits and to hear full tones i need electric hearing aids ,also ive a brokjen tendon in each arm so only 50% movement in them and struggle to put on headphones ,DOES ANYONE use blue tooth ear buds for muting a pc/radio ? if so what types ?
