previously Cripple Mr Onion on twitter. Noodling on retro stuff and working on my running. I occasionally work on movies and tv shows and stuff.
I wrote a short story a few years back with gamification of drone warfare as its central theme. Kicking myself I never submitted it to anywhere now.

You can absolutley do it, sign up and set yourself the goal.

3 years ago I couldnt manage more than abour 200m at a time. Now my regular morning runs are about 10-12kms and I've run a couple of half marathons in the last 12 months.

I'm almost at the point where I might start enjoying it 😉

The problem as I see it is that the "economics" of AI dont stack up against its supposed outcome. The "end of work" isn't compatible with a scarcity economy. If nobody has jobs then who pays for the AI? The house of cards predicated on stock price alone can't survive the collision with reality.

There is also the much lesser known DesTestMaxSL (swiftlink) version, which gives you info via terminal output for a machine with seemingly no usable video. I got it working at one point via the ulitmatte ii+ swiftlink emulation.

I guess if the long view worries of the tech and $ bros, is more about how comfortable your doomsday bunker is, then HOW the downfall of humanity occurs is trivial.

In the meantime, gotta grift those sweet doomsday bunker $

Yeah, I'm not seeing it either, but apparantly, I'm the crazy one.

I can't see how even a best case "A.I. revolution" pans out under late stage capitalism without eating it's own tail. If it displaces mass employment, then who's paying for it? Only works in a post scarcity economy IMO, ala Trek.

You're welcome. Keep an eye out for a bit character called Black Elvis - a guy I know from some shared local groups and being on occasional productions together.

I think Firebite (AMC+ tv series) just scrapes in. Australian horror / vampire show by Indigenous director Warwick Thornton (check out his other films and docos too). Family issues in the show but wouldn't call it a family drama.

Well I did just extract 1L of lemon juice from a half tub of lemons from my yard - froze most of it, but then decided to make a small test batch of lemon syrup, which is currently flavouring the gin and soda I'm drinking. It is however 8pm where I am so...

Quite a collection :) I've got a DS lite to refurb next week too. I could have probably kept its shell(ok condition but not brilliant) but it needs new digitiser and the screens have artefacts so I decided to do a full refresh on it anyway and ordered a new shell as well.

Oh, hey. It got worse. Pulling it apart to rehome the motherboard and screens revealed it was even more brittle than I was already complaining about. It's roughly the strength of thin tempered chocolate.
