Unapologetically opinionated and a true smart ass. Sarcasm is my mother tongue. Registered member of the Liberal Party of Canada. Former federal public servant who has had my fill of the Conservative agenda. Mental health advocate and fierce ally for all.
And they absolutely should have been.

Bingo. That's a lot of money for him to spend for performative bullshit.

I just saw Treaty 8 First Nations have asked for a pause and are threatening legal action.

This isn't how nation building should work. The best way to make our economy really boom is to invest in First Nations infrastructure. It's really obvious when you see it laid out like this.

There is no way they keep him as leader now. No way. And if one or more follow, it may be immediate. Then they'll likely put in Scheer as interim leader. BLECH.

That's the plan for Canada.

For me, it was important to keep it from going to a private collector. That's real history and it needs to be seen and talked about by Canadians. It's been hidden away for decades.

And there is more funding coming from both families for the care and display of the document. It's being permanently donated to the museums and archives.

The Thomson family used to have a stake in The Bay and without them, it would have just been the Westons who got it. But Thomson stepped in and said that it really does belong in Manitoba. That's why the Manitoba Museum and Manitoba Archives are one of the four who will have actual ownership.

And Bill C-5 had a bunch of pretty words about reconciliation and consultation but Ford is being taken to court and so is Eby. For ignoring the need to get free, prior and informed consent. Oh, and so is the federal government.

The one standout? Manitoba. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Then there are also things like this. Carney loosening the laws for Smith also loosened them for this former banker turned oil tycoon. I don't think that's a coincidence.

How long before Saskatchewan and Ontario want their laws to be changed just like Alberta?

When I read Bill C-5 and said it gives the government the power to ignore consultation, I took a lot of heat. But based on how things are going, that's exactly what Carney and those going along with his plans are doing. Two projects so far are also fully American owned. That's not nation building.

I'm not even joking. Did you know that the Indigenous members of the major project advisory council were absolutely floored at the Alberta MOU announcement? Isn't the entire point of the board to ensure that projects meet specific criteria? Based on what I've read, Carney decided it all by himself.
December 11, 2025 at 11:40 PM
Absolutely. No need to wait until January.

The last thing we need is Carney with a majority, though he's governing like he already has one.
