Not so subtle admission of failure here by DDOT at the intersection of NY Ave, NJ Ave & M St NW. Many dollars were spent redesigning and rebuilding this spot, nominally to boost safety. But we accept such a likelihood of a driver careening onto the sidewalk that the fire hydrant requires bodyguards.
