Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.

Some immigrants who voted for Trump may say they were lied to or used when his ethics are questioned. That's difficult to accept because there are plenty of reasons & examples to question his integrity. They just don't want to admit they want to pull the ladder up behind them for whatever reasons.
