We could do so much better - like having employers pay restitution to the program for underpaying workers and going after deadbeat dads who force the single moms onto SNAP.

Actually, the program has drowned in bureaucracy for decades. Almost no one audits or charges people who abuse the system. They only take action when someone files a complaint. They do this with voter fraud, too.
