Governments and voters are both reacting to algorithm-shaped “public opinion,” not grounded priorities. Immigration feels urgent because platforms amplify fear, pulling parties into hollow performances of toughness. The far right reads that drift as confirmation it’s winning.

A great example here of that neat trick where you highlight the rise in the cost of offshore wind…

(absolutely true, and largely linked to higher interest rates and inflation)
8/ And going forward, Britain has chosen to use offshore wind as the workhorse of its energy transition.

The trouble is, offshore wind is still fairly expensive and has stopped getting cheaper, at least for now.

It might be bonkers, but currently bonkers is polling amazingly well.
Bonkers Reform plan to:
- whack up your energy bills by making renewables and pylons cost more (costs that are passed straight onto bills).
- leave us with hugely volatile energy prices.
Good for Putin, terrible for us.

Some unsurprising stats on the 'new general election' petition.

There is a very significant and strong positive correlation between Reform Votes and Petition Signatures.

I thought they said they like democracy?

Dot colours in plots are the party that won that constituency.
