Hillsdale College started sending me a newsletter around 2018. I don't know how they got my contact information and they gotta know that I am a registered Democrat. Anyway, I started collecting the newsletter and will donate it to my institution or some other but this is what they're up to lately.

Don't forget about the smaller demonstrations that happened outside of large cities. I love my city, but was out this morning for errands and found folks out in Orland Park, Illinois. I also saw a stupid pickup with a Trump flag trying to counter demonstrate. You are sad if you fly a Trump flag.

When people think about New York, they are thinking about NYC, but it's a pretty large state with a history associated with chattel slavery. Similar to Illinois, there are racist pockets in New York state.

To be ambushed is a nightmare, isn't it?

In 2017/,I met former Librarian of Congress in Baltimore,MD where she kept Enoch Pratt Public Library open during the 2015 uprising for Freddie Gray. She was so nice 2 me & told me that as an early career Black special collections librarian,I was special because we don't usually get those positions.

Waiting for universities across the country to turn into the Super Friends, 🙄. They have the power,🤭, (and the money) to stop Trump. "I'm gonna take away Harvard's tax exempt status!" Any day now, y'all. Doesn't he have larger problems? (Where are the Wonder Twins in this picture?!)

Glad that they are calling them "Trump tariffs" now.

It's always nice when something looks good from the packaging AND tastes good, 😋. They are a bit on the sweet side, but good!

I don't understand why we thought that elite institutions weren't what they actually are. They went after the presidents of these institutions and either forced them to leave their positions or leave altogether. Do we know what the legacies of these institutions are?

No culture does that, not even Western countries/cultures. You buy into that at your peril. It is a sweeping generalization. I suggested in the thread that if you haven't read any of Dr.McMillan-Cottom's work, you should, and Daniel Greene's book. Some Antonio Gramsci, too. Be well:

I am also suggesting people read Daniel Greene's book

LRskeet: Yes, law enforcement interferes with cultural production. Read about the CIA's interference in publishing in African countries, 👀. They paid U.S. money for certain African writers' work to be funded/promoted.

For those who think higher education and/or the cultural heritage sector is some hotbed of wokeism, these are the type of questions we still receive. This was forwarded by a director to one of the reference queues I work to fulfill service requirement, 🥴👀.

I noticed a cardinal outside my kitchen window and decided to take a chance, 😅. It's grainy because 1) Through a window, 2) Distance, & 3) I am old school & like to take pictures with a camera--I don't care how good smartphone cameras are these days, 👨🏾‍🦳😂. I always felt coerced into phone/camera.

I was not sure if this was real, but the back injury claim could be true. Someone screen capped his xitter profile, which included an x-ray. If those pins are accurate ...he destroyed his back. My mother is 77 & had a laminectomy w/fusion & she's not in chronic pain, but not good either.

I've been feeling lazy (tired!), lately, so my dinners have been mid. This was the fastest and easiest meal I could think to put together, 😂🤷🏾‍♀

My sister's dog when he hears a doorbell ring ...on the TV, 🙄.

Captive audience for sure, 😩. More lecture than conversation. One good thing: he called Rahm Emanuel the mayor for the 1%. He closed schools/mental health facilities 🤬 (LaQuan McDonald was mentioned). The only two I was interested in hearing anything about -->Harold Washington and Eugene Sawyer.

I made soup for dinner tonight ...I wanted barley soup because I haven't had it in years. It didn't quite turn out the way I wanted. Let's just say it's a good idea to always have fresh lemon and Better Than Bouillon (chicken) in the kitchen, 😅. It's good but I used too many root veggies.
