✊🏽Advancing political power in rural & farmworker communities
🗳️ ¡Sí se puede!®️
On September 8, 1965, Filipino farmworkers, members of AWOC, led by Larry Itliong, walked out of Delano’s grape fields & called on NFWA to join.

Together, they sparked a historic strike for dignity & justice. Their power lives on, when we rise together, we win. ✊🏽

The CEC supports the reintroduction of the Asunción Valdivia Heat Illness, Injury and Fatality Prevention Act of 2025 to protect workers from deadly heat. There’s no federal heat standard, this bill would change that. Call your reps and demand action. Voluntary guidelines don’t save lives. Laws do.

At the Michigan Farm Bureau’s Washington Legislative Seminar, Senator Slotkin called food a national security issue but ignored the farm workers who make it possible.

No food security without farm worker security.

Call Senator Slotkin. Demand she support the Farm Workforce Modernization Act.

The opening of Michigan’s largest ICE detention center in Baldwin will enhance ongoing attacks on marginalized rural communities, where many farm workers live and work. This facility will deepen fear and silence entire immigrant communities that will be racially targeted.

Migrant farm workers in Michigan were trapped in debt and forced to work long hours, all under threat of deportation.

This is abuse. It’s happening now.

Call your elected officials to support the Farm Workforce Modernization Act, a critical step in ending the exploitation of farm workers.

🚨 Farm workers’ wages are under attack & they need our voices now.

Senator Slotkin announced on April 25th in Frankenmuth, Michigan, her intended support for legislation that would cut & freeze the pay of the very people who feed us.

📞 Call Senator Slotkin & urge her to stand with farm workers.
