The CEC supports the reintroduction of the Asunción Valdivia Heat Illness, Injury and Fatality Prevention Act of 2025 to protect workers from deadly heat. There’s no federal heat standard, this bill would change that. Call your reps and demand action. Voluntary guidelines don’t save lives. Laws do.

I am beyond disappointed that Senator Slotkin wants to freeze the wages of farm workers, who are essential to Michigan's and the American economy. It is shameful that the Senator speaks out for auto workers and other workers while also working to cut the wages of farm workers. I believe farm workers are not paid enough.

Estoy sumamente decepcionado/a de que la senadora Slotkin quiera congelar los salarios de los campesinos, quienes son esenciales para la economía de Michigan y de Estados Unidos. Es vergonzoso que la senadora defienda a los trabajadores de la industria automotriz y a otros trabajadores mientras, al mismo tiempo, trabaja para recortar los salarios de los campesinos. Creo que los campesinos no reciben suficiente salario.

Back in January, our community in Kern County was terrorized by CBP agents. The ACLU filed a lawsuit on behalf of our sister organization, the UFW, where we also represented two of the plaintiffs, claiming the stops violated their Fourth Amendment rights.
