Far fewer in 2024; only Chorley (not very comparable), Bootle, Liverpool Walton, Liverpool West Derby and Knowsley.

People would vote differently under preferential voting than FPTP, but from a British perspective, it feels strange to be so rare when 21 seats in 2015, 35 in 2017 and 37 in 2019 had 50%+ majorities.

Is it possible to change the app language without changing device language? I'm not sure if I'm just missing it, but I can't see the option anywhere.

Things were simpler under Corbyn when the reason for hating Miliband was Falkirk.

As did Jo Swinson after denying killing squirrels.

(No, I'm not saying that she lost her seat because she denied that it happened.)

I think the bigger issue's morale loss if not standing, fear of being behind in future elections if not standing once, and the idea that voters are generally smart enough to tactically vote themselves (which hasn't been tested in a 5-party system yet, but between LDs / Grn should often be clear)

Overlap as little as they do? 40 of the 100 LD target seats are Labour-held (only 10 of the 50 closest); Labour seats make up 78 of the 100 seats where the Greens need the smallest swing and 37 of the 50 closest.

I know they haven't been at Millbank for 23 / 11 years. Leave.eu, RT and Reform have more recently been / are there, and presumably with fewer moral concerns about Musk.

How far was the DUP ever Paisley's rather than a broader party, and if the former, how did it survive? Dependence on anti-GFA / Stormont feeling and taking senior members from the UUP?

Would a party (co-?)led by somebody with past support of the IRA have done worse with Alex Easton than with {C}?

The only Danish-Australian politician I know of is largely associated with police corruption, but being about to shoot themselves in the foot hasn't stopped Labour before.
Thirty years on, the Fitzgerald Inquiry still looms large over Queensland politics
With its details of widespread corruption, the Fitzgerald report remains a cataclysmic event in Queensland politics, and still resonates today.

"Australian-style island internment" may not be more appealing to a large portion of Labour (Liberal Democrat, Green, SNP) voters, but as a line at least isn't dependent on association with somebody 70% of Brits see as a poor or terrible president.
Has Trump been a good president?
So far, do you think Donald Trump has been...

I think at one point the most common nationalities for overstaying visas in Australia were British, American and New Zealander, but I haven't been able to find a source for that.

Even by coach, I suspect it works out at around the same price or cheaper to fly a lot of the time, especially if both ends are near enough to a direct flight route.

The alternative is to be rich enough to be able to take enough time off of work to spend 40+ hours travelling each way, which isn't really an option for most people.

Obama visibly aged quicker than the years went as president, but I don't think physical stress is what's doing it for Truss.

I wonder how long they've spent in each state; of the twelve countries I've visited outside of the UK, I've only spent more than a cumulative week in four of them.

I don't suppose a transport secretary's proposed delay repay for buses whilst looking for a quick (if not necessarily cheap), popular policy?
November 15, 2025 at 5:43 PM
Tatton as an example of that type? It's in the sixty least deprived English seats which might limit Conservative to Reform losses, and 9% of the vote likely isn't high enough for LDs to win from (even thinking about the large Independent swing there in 1997 and the North Shropshire by-election).
