cutting out an early print with an x-acto mask on top of glass on top of negative on top of paper (using just regular paper here for illustrative purposes) results, with a bunch of different variants this one worked OK. at least, you can see the results of different exposure times on different areas pretty well.

Came down to #redwoodcity #Caltrain this morning and saw this.
I guess the city prefers no station at all to the possibility of unhoused folks sleeping in it. Sheesh.
Just in time for the rainy season, too (when I might actually want to go in there).
This is the waiting shelter at Redwood City. It's basically a roof with some pillars holding it up, and some partial walls, but basically open air. Now a bunch of metal grates have been put up so nobody can get in there. Ticket machines have been moved out of the structure so they face the outside through precisely-sized gaps in the grates.

a piece of heavy/tough (tempered) glass, about 1 ft square, lying in some landscaping. the corners are slightly nipped to fit into whatever piece of furniture it was part of.

I visited the fabulous #orindatheater a few weeks ago for the SF #silentfilm festival. I love taking pictures of Theater marquees. I need to come back around twilight sometime, which is sort of the optimal condition for this sort of thing. #kodakbrownie
There's a big vertical sort-of sail shaped sign that says ORINDA. The Marquee proper says something about (Buster) Keaton. The style of the building kind of combines mission revival and art deco.

We visited the National Automobile Museum in #RenoNV. They have a Ghostbusters "Ecto-1" car, which was in their shop, so I couldn't get quite as close as I wanted, but maybe it makes for a more interesting picture this way. #kodakbrownie

I've been doing the #darkroom stuff with kid #2 because he's the one still at home. Kid #1 is home for a holiday visit; gave her a box camera and film when we met at the airport, and 2 days later we've got some prints.
some B&W contact prints hanging up to dry. they were hanging on the shower curtain rod first, but then people wanted to actually take showers, so moved them to a window curtain rod.

I got a sneak peek at the #nilescanyonrailway Holiday Lights Train tonight.

Train going around a gentle curve, it is covered with Christmas lights, which makes even the track ballast and shrubbery glow. Looking between train cars, from one dimly but pink lit car into a very festively lit up on Inside a fabulously ornate wood paneled parlor car Riding in a dome car. It is night outside but the lights on the outside of the train are illuminating the scenery with a creepy blue glow.

The Orinda #SFBART station is s block away and that'd his we got home.
