Dissent is fully baked into the foundations of America. The United States was founded as a protest; a protest against British tyranny. Political dissent led to the open rebellion that created the United States. And because of that, dissent is not only recognized in America–it is cherished. But today, dissent is being punished and checks and balances are under attack. Judge J.
