Finished reading The Debacle by Émile Zola as the storm races through the trees outside. My first Zola! Not my last! Got such a severe book hangover now, whatever am I going to read next?

Devastated by yesterday's news of the deaths of Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva.
Went for a walk to the ground. The flags were at half mast and the tributes were beautiful. Was holding it together until I saw someone had left their PlayStation controller.

The top of the iron work of the Paisley Gateway, named for Bob Paisley, the top of the stand and a huge poster showing some of the players is also showing Flowers, shirts and scarves left outside Liverpool's stadium yesterday, with balloons shaped as the number '20' in the background (Diogo Jota's shirt number) A Playstation controller with '20' written on it has been left among the flowers. Diogo Jota was a huge gamer and had a celebration where he pretended to play a game.

Last week was definitely one of those weeks but today I got lucky enough with deadlines to be able to sit in the shade and read Julian Maclaren-Ross's Of Love and Hunger from start to finish. Reminded me (a bit) of my own misspent youth on the south coast.
Let's hope this week is more peaceful ❤️

You might remember about a month ago we had an unfortunate peony-v-football confrontation that didn't end too well for the plant. So I decided to buy some for my mum and they are as joyous as I'd hoped.

Gran had made lobscouse for our supper. I preferred Gran's lobscouse to any lobscouse I ever had but I don't know how she ever made it taste so good cos she only got the odd bone once a week from the Butcher' Shop and it was me who brought it for her, on Saturdays. Not sure about how to add alt text to your images? I made some guides:
Screenshot showing an image. There's a box on the top left of the image showing '+ALT', click on that to start adding your alt text. At the top is a line saying 'One or more images is missing alt text' - more on that later This screenshot is what happens when you click on that box. You can see the image from the first one with a box saying 'Descriptive alt text' and some words explaining what's in the image. This one is the cover of Terry Pratchett's book Wyrd Sisters Last one is really good. In the accessibility settings, you can toggle on 'Require alt text before posting' and then you'll always get that reminder from the first screenshot. Happy alt-texting!
