Oh yeah, 14 months is the prime age of rambunctious toddlerishness—they’re constantly busy and yet not developmentally able to focus on activities for long. Sweet, but exhausting. Also, I jinxed myself: My kid’s care is on a delay until 10 and may end up canceled. 🥶

All of that said, I hope your kid(s) can enjoy the snow but also give you a breather to get work done. Mine is 8, and even though I could take him in, I’ll probably give him the option of staying home, spending some quality time on the iPad while I work, and then breaking for us to get out and play.

Childcare teachers don’t get paid nearly enough, even under the best circumstances, but it’s even more striking on days like this. They even provide full-day coverage on snow days for the elementary schoolers in the afterschool program.

Oof. I hope your childcare coverage works out. I’m in Columbus, too, and I end up feeling equal parts grateful and guilty that my kid’s program (NBCC) is open even if we’re in Level 2 and CCS closes.
