Due to staffing issues, the Tucson NWS is no longer sending up a 12Z sounding. This sounding is a meteorologist's most important short-term monsoon forecasting tools. This data is also critical for the accurate weather modeling of monsoon thunderstorms.

Nebulosity near the star Atik in Perseus. Besides the H II nebula, there is also a lot of obscuring dust. The image is mainly LRGB using a Esprit refractor. #astrophotography

This is my first attempt at the Squid and the Bat. The image uses mostly HII and OIII. However, the OIII data (the Squid part) was insufficient, and I'll have to get more next year. It is VERY dim. #astrophotography

I'm so glad to be here!

I took this around the same date. It was taken with an 80 mm refractor, f4.5, and a mono camera with LRGB. Processing became a PITA because of RGB star trails, which had to be removed and replaced.
