Those new bike feels. Well, old but new to me bike feels.
Adjusting everything to the nth degree, feeling for the power in the different ratios, playing with the breaking profile.
Sure I'll probably get rid of it in a month or so but fun to mess about with.

A quick walk at lunch to see koalas, wombats, platypus, kangaroos, crocodiles, Tassie devils and quolls.
Not as amazing as seeing them in the wild, but still excellent for a half hour break from work.

I'm not sure if this reflects that I'm very easy to buy gifts for, or very hard.

Having a safe and secure home where I was able to stay cool during the worst of the heat today, and living in a location that will avoid the worst of the short term climate impacts but sadly not the looming catastrophe.

Being lucky enough to have so much of my extended family close enough that they can pop around for lunch, dinner, a cuppa. So many great cities in the world to live in, but this one is the only one that could be home in that way.

The sighs and squeaks of a sleeping newborn, so fresh that they still have gunk dried in their soft fluffy hair. And the tiny shallow breaths they take, fast enough it almost feels like a heartbeat.
