Two of my fave authors. I do vibe with a story about empire not ending with the destruction of it. We're all in the middle of it. I wanna reflect on like, realistic agency in our everyday lives (said the game designer, surprise surprise :p)

I love everything about Peak actually, especially the ability to razz your friends but the commitment to making that suboptimal. Like, there are so many troll your friends tools that could exist but don't. Instead there's bugle of friendship and an achievement for administering bandages to others.

Seriously considering making a slight pivot ahead of this transition period I'm going to be entering between seling the house and figuring out the next full time gig. I don't want to take just any job with midlevel pay/title on another bland open world/fps. Thinkin I'll make a game for me instead

It really is exhausting going through multiple interviews, week after week, recapping the same information about my experience and process. Trying my best to tweak it to cater more specifically to [insert genre] feels like it only alleviates so much. I'm just tired of interviewing

This is making the rounds. Some data, for better or worse. It's wild to think I was making an "average" salary and felt simultaneously over and under compensated. But that was last year. This year, I'm still unemployed, still searching.

I hate having to do flea purges.

Someone should make a game that's powerwash simulator, but for your house, purging fleas, with soap, and there's fire mechanics, and it's equally valid to complete a level by burning the house down with all the fleas in it.

I love running trpgs, and I don't think I'll ever not feel guilty when *my* life makes me have to put a table on pause (not my players' lives, *I* am uniquely undeserving of breaks /j). But at least it's the holidays. Tables always backup around now anyway.

Highly motivated the past few days, but trying not to get too hyperactive and burn myself out before finishing some stuff, focusing on only one project until it's done, starting with tiny projects on my backlog to build momentum. Means sewing for a couple weeks while getting the house ready to sell.

How was finding a house in like the worst buyer's market in like a long ass time easier than finding a job feels right now? It's nuts.

Teaching would definitely be cool, but I'd have to go back for an MA/MFA and I don't know if i have that in me. Definitely not if I have to work to support myself through it at the same time

My hobbies will never cease. Today I put every food item, the amount I bought, and the price I got it for, from both a large costco and a grocery store run into a growing spreadsheet attempting to track how much food we actually buy and eat. Why? Gonna figure out how much of that I can grow.

Well, I'm sad i still don't have a job.

I realized a while ago shitposting every day until i have one is an unconscionable amount of shitposting and also I'm not funny, like, in a sustainable way lol

Todays small bit of salvaged joy comes from cleaning out the closets and bagging up a bunch of stuff for donations, then finding my old narwhal kigurumi and spending the rest of the evening chillin in that 🦄🐋
