Also: dear fellow Canadians, sometimes you just can't appease your way through a potentially contentious project by relying on PR and consensus building. Avoiding conflicts whenever possible is actually good. But denying that conflicts exist is counterproductive.

8/ Ironically, for an event advertised with obvious neo-Nazi imagery and with organizers with neo-Nazi tattoos, they talked about how conferences like these make them more respectable. They believe this makes them a threat to the establishment.

They do care, but they believe it's misspent by the teachers, the health care administrators, the city councils... anybody but the actual guilty party, because the Conservative = efficient and good for business framing remains impervious to reality.
