This woodpecker was going to town on this branch and stayed awhile while I got photos from a bunch of different angles.
Google tells me it's either a Hairy Woodpecker or Downy Woodpecker but I can't tell for sure which. Leaning towards hairy though. 🙂🪶

50 years ago today, Nick Drake passed away. One of the most remarkably gifted singer-songwriters of his generation who made such tremendous insightful music. It's such a shame we lost him so young but his impact hasn't been fogotten.
