How can we create a more just, more equitable society that costs us less over the long run?

I am always surprised at how much less online my students are online than we think. And they also live in surprisingly local bubbles online. Might be all the media literacy teaching kicking in? That's UK context though.

I.e. how much was essentially inherited luck? Also c) can the model simply be replicated or is the reason it is working because it is local? Does a national strategy be inherently local?

Interesting suggestions by @andyburnham.bsky.social about a different approach to politics and the economy. I wonder though a) how much devolution contributed and b) how London becoming too expensive played a role? www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Dear Americans. As a European, I am increasingly worried about what's going on in your country. I don't think abducting another state's leader, no matter how horrible they are, is okay. Ditto seizing ships or threatening other countries with take over. Plus all the internal stuff. #USA #Trump

Are you talking about Liverpool by any chance?

Morning from #Wavertree

And you are right.

So so true. It also affects pedestrians. Crossing over a green light now involves checking that all cars have actually stopped so many of them run red lights. @liamthorp.bsky.social

Absolutely. @teamlabouruk.bsky.social it would be good to emphasize the role of the BBC in public life and our commitment to freedom of the press.
What you’re witnessing is a populist assault on the BBC.

This is not an institutional scandal in any meaningful sense of the word. It is an attack on public service broadcasting.
