Exactly. Arguing over every outburst is a distraction. The real goal has been the same for years: Europe needs to build the capacity to defend itself without relying on anyone else.
No point dwelling on a Trump outburst. The core objective has been clear for at least a year and in reality ten years: get Europe able to stand on its own two feet militarily.
