there are many issues we can agree to disagree on, but there are 6 upon which i will not compromise

1: scientific socialism
2: anti-zionism / anti-colonialism
3: intersectional feminism
4: anti-eugenics + vaccines work
5: pacifism is a tool of the oppressor
6: no slurs, period

. @votetanille.bsky.social's Indigenous reconciliation and empowerment plan is a powerful, inspiring document.

It’s a vision rooted in the deep ground of First Nations, Inuit and Métis rights.
We in the NDP can’t lose sight of Indigenous issues.

Our plan would:

☑️Close the infrastructure gap on First Nations

☑️Uphold the principles of free prior and informed consent

☑️ Deliver funding for community policing

☑️ Fully fund Jordan’s Principle

Pleased to see the jury make this decision.

We need to have eyes wide open this is exactly why the Government wants to abolish juries.

People protesting against a genocide are not the criminals here - it's the politicians who continue to provide cover.

"By the end of the two-year period, 94% of participants reported they were housed."

A million pilot programs show the same thing: when people are given enough money to afford housing, homelessness ends.

Other supports matter, but housing comes first. Not policing. Not moralizing. Homes.

This is classic scapegoating — blaming refugees for a healthcare crisis caused by decades of underfunding and privatization.

These charges are cruel and punitive. We won’t fix a broken system by putting up new barriers for people who are already struggling.

Organizing works! This is a win for public pressure, and a message about the moral clarity Canadians want from politics right now.

Now we need legislation to ban all Canadian companies from contracting with ICE or otherwise supporting Trump's kidnapping and deportation machine.

The Carney government's Groceries & Essentials Benefit is a bandage on a gaping wound.

While this temporary measure will feed me for a time, countless disabled Canadians like myself remain in legislated poverty.

We need a public option for groceries, not a gift to Galen Weston.

There are few things more ironic than "Don't tread on me" Libertarians defending masked feds disarming then killing a man for legally practicing his 2A rights.

BadEmpanada outing himself as a crypto-fascist and a colonialist.

He knows the vast majority of Greenlanders are indigenous, but he doesn't give a shit.

Why? Because he's a contrarian bigot with about as much self-awareness as Trump himself. Maybe he always was, hard to say.

NATO was always a protection racket run for the benefit of the US in particular and the Western world as a whole. It's just following that model to its logical conclusion now, as seen with US threats to annex Canada.

Broke: The rules-based world order is being threatened by US action

Woke: The rules-based world order was killed by MAGA

Bespoke: The rules-based world order was always a smokescreen for US-NATO imperialism

It's extremely unlikely that the US will ever attempt a military invasion of Canada, for 2 reasons.

1st: Canada has a massive landmass, difficult climate, & 40 million citizens, some of whom would form militias.

2nd: It's far less costly to just keep funding Alberta separtists.

What is ideology but the system(s) of thought & belief required to justify that which is rendered unjustifiable by history?

For no political party or state makes itself accountable in full for its own atrocities, yet neither has any state (trans)formed without rivers of blood.

Thoughts On Marxism:

In practice, the dictatorship of the proletariat is the gateway stage to socialism, which is the gateway stage to communism.

Additionally, globalization and the collapse of the USSR combined have made socialist progression in the 21st century especially difficult.
