End of 2025 thoughts.
I got to know a ton of new people this year. Whether we met in person or interacted online, I am so grateful for everyone I’ve been able to share space with. I’ve struggled a lot with feeling like I belong in communities, but between last year and this year, I’ve been lucky enough to befriend so many people. I know I’m not the most vocal here and don’t interact much with people’s posts, but I’m really happy to be in this space. I’m grateful that I’m accepted and feel a sense of belonging despite not reaching out to others nearly as much as I should. I’m sorry it’s such a struggle for me. I want to try changing that next year. I feel like most of my growth this year was online. I stepped out of my comfort zone in a lot of ways musically. A thread I thought would be a stupid idea turned out to be something people really liked. I finally overcame my fear of monetizing my work and started to get serious about taking commissions. I’ve been scared for years that my music would never be worth much and that I should keep holding off on trying to do something with it until I got “good enough”. I’m still awestruck that so many people not only enjoyed but paid for my music this year alone. Thanks to all of you, I’ve also made WAY more music this year than I ever have in a single year. It blows my mind whenever I think about it. I hope to keep the trend going next year. All of your support has really made me feel like what I do and love has worth, and that goes far beyond monetary value. I never felt like there were ever really any fans of my work until now. Only people who liked the occasional one-off remix from me. I hope I can keep making music you enjoy. I really want to release some non-commission original stuff next year, and I’m pretty confident it’ll flop, but I’ll hope you all enjoy it anyway lol. I don’t really like talking about my personal situation in depth, but despite everything I’ve mentioned, I still feel that my quantifiable growth this year was very little. I’m not proud of my floundering. However, a lot of my recent interactions have given me confidence to live more authentically and pursue things I love. I hope that by this same time next year, I’ll feel like I’m doing something both meaningful and sustainable with my life. I’m not sure how to end this, but if you’re still here, thank you for taking the time to read my rambling.

I originally got this garland from the dollar store bc I thought it would be fun and silly to share a festive Rixia wip but I haven’t finished as much as I thought it would and was away from home all weekend 🥲
