Premarin is a medication containing conjugated equine estrogens, derived from the urine of pregnant mares. The name "Premarin" is a shortened form of "PREgnant MARe urINe".

Should one assume, then, that pregabalin is derived from a pregnant goblin?

Congratulations to Dr. Christy and her team on the publication of their original history of medicine research. Well worth the read, as always!
I am so excited to share this article, online first at the Journal of the National Medical Association.

Do you call the carpool lane "HOV" or is that just the brand name for fremanezumab?

In our editorial for Neurology: Education, Megan Jiao and I make a case that if we want serious games in #Meded to be taken seriously, we need to treat them like any other intervention: with transparency, rigor, and reproducibility. 1/2

Congrats to the future neuromuscular neurologists and physiatrists who matched into the fellowship of their dreams today! (Even if it wasn't your first choice, you're still going to start dreaming about it, so it counts.)

And a big thanks to the AANEM for hosting the match.

We should stop referring to common, everyday cases as “bread and butter.”

I don’t see many doctors eating bread and butter on the regular.

What should we call them instead that would capture the same sentiment?

Not to toot my own electrode, but our EEG/EMG course today will be epic.

I overheard some very trustworthy people saying to each other that it will go down as the best #AANAM session of 2025. And the previous and subsequent hundred years.

Yes, the title sounds dry, but trust me.
