It’s the first in a new series of curriculum resources in Neurology: Education. Check it out, share with students, and stay tuned for more.

Meanwhile, are you developing a curriculum for some aspect of neurology? Get off your butt (or sit back down if you don't have a standing desk) and submit it!

Premarin is a medication containing conjugated equine estrogens, derived from the urine of pregnant mares. The name "Premarin" is a shortened form of "PREgnant MARe urINe".

Should one assume, then, that pregabalin is derived from a pregnant goblin?

Do you call the carpool lane "HOV" or is that just the brand name for fremanezumab?

In our editorial for Neurology: Education, Megan Jiao and I make a case that if we want serious games in #Meded to be taken seriously, we need to treat them like any other intervention: with transparency, rigor, and reproducibility. 1/2

Not to toot my own electrode, but our EEG/EMG course today will be epic.

I overheard some very trustworthy people saying to each other that it will go down as the best #AANAM session of 2025. And the previous and subsequent hundred years.

Yes, the title sounds dry, but trust me.

The judge picks the winner, who gets to keep the prompt card for scoring. Now the next person becomes judge and play continues.

Game play is simple. One player (the judge) draws a card and reads one of two prompts. Everyone else grabs words from a big pile in the center of the table and races to come up with the best answer.

Happy Pi day! I saw this in a record store and realized that it answers the age old question… Where would we be without Pi? (Or in this case, py.)

This is embarrassing. We were hosting applicants here for a second look, and we were mingling in a shared conference room.

It looks like another department was using this room to make their rank list.

Everyone laughed, but I doubt this made our visitors feel more at ease!

Look at the mortality trends reported in various AIDP trials 1988-2013. Did we get better at treating AIDP or are we just getting better at diagnosing mild cases? Or is this just comparing apples and oranges?

(Not shown: Intubation rates haven't really changed during the time.)

In October, Labcorp/Invitae ended their sponsored program that provided free genetic testing for hereditary neuropathies.

Now they are closing their free periodic paralysis testing program.

Has anyone figured out workarounds for either of these?
