Been reading the Wounded Storyteller by Arthur Frank. It’s incredible reading something that can so clearly elucidate the patterns of my experiences, but it’s also bringing me that much closer to understanding them. Which… is very saddening.

Of course, COVID's harms are not limited to myocarditis

So are people actually going to hold a general strike now that Brandon Johnson is suggesting it

Average NYT opinion saying incredibly ignorant ass shit
yeah, i think a commitment to public health obligates you to get vaccinated and, when you are sick, do what you can to avoid spreading that to other people. the demand that one mask at all times in public spaces is, i think, unreasonable.

Drew Struzan might be most famous for Star WARS, but he did plenty of Star TREK over the years. And they were always gorgeous.

Whoa. My insurance just approved my IVIG. I’ve been waiting… three years for this medication. Feels a bit surreal right now.

Someone who’s read the rest of the Sun Eater series, please tell me that it gets better after the first novel 😩

I’m pretty sure my insurance is never going to approve any treatments that would actually help me.

This is just a reminder that it’s okay to hate the people that did wrong by you. If they gave you good reason then your feelings are valid.

It’s honestly offensive that the CIA could take out Fred Hampton as a supposed threat to our government but they didn’t see the bumbling, hamfisted danger of conservative manosphere podcasters. They could have all been psy-oped into chugging bleach if we had just tried hard enough

I’m choked up seeing this—it’s shameful.

Iranian refugees got snatched by “immigration agents” dressed like bounty hunters in West LA’s Sawtelle neighborhood.

We’re really about to send them back to a country we just bombed? A regime known for jailing, torturing, and killing its own people?

It’s genuinely so obvious that Nihachu has long COVID the way she talks about her health. But she keeps going to conventions and getting infected. 😮‍💨

I cannot tell you how bad this is. We've handed over the health of all Americans to this deranged zealot and his flunkies and mini-Mes. This is going to get people sick, some will die. Nothing good will come of this.

Blaming “The Antivaxxers” for measles outbreaks is a wild double standard coming from people who magically believe COVID isn’t harmful and that we can’t do anything about it so they live in make-believe (or glass houses I guess)

Cuts to NIH will keep science exclusive. Already training programs that open doors for those who are not rich & are underrepresented. Cuts to budgets will decimate public institutions & communities. We write to say save NIH & keep science for the working class.

Disaster Awaits Us if the NIH Dies
We need to be sending more federal research dollars to more people in more places. Instead, the government is doing the opposite.

The subtext here is that none of these clowns—Bhattacharya, Kennedy, Makry, or Oz—believe government has any business protecting people from disease threats or doing public health.

It’s just social Darwinism.
