After being off social media since Twitter got increasingly toxic many years back, I like what Bluesky has been doing and decided to check it out.

Given the margin of error, statistically speaking, there must be a situation where a private equity acquisition has actually made a product or service better for its consumers. That said, I can’t recall a single instance where this has occurred in my lifetime, just a graveyard of failures.

Collie puppy is growing so quick. He’s now 10 months :3
44 weeks. Got to hang out with lots of folks and get lots of water time while the water is still warm.

The big 40 (weeks).
Ransom did lots of water fetch, lots of beating up the herding ball, and lots of running around the property off leash. Also took a ride on his first non-inflatable boat.

I wish there was some automation or checkbox in the voting process where as soon as my ballot is received, the post office would immediately stop delivering any political ads/mailings to my address…

Ransom, the 5 month old border collie puppy, on his longest hike so far. About 5 miles in and will be a roughly 10 mile hike round trip. Just experienced his first waves :3

TIL that Robert E. Howard’s first Kull of Atlantis short story “The Shadow Kingdom” in 1929 not only basically started the modern sword & sorcery genre of fiction, but it also incidentally sparked the ridiculous Lizard People conspiracy theory that persists to today! 🤣 🐍🤦

Similarly, I’ve made dozens of bonfires. However, never have I ever burned a stump out from under itself in place. Gonna be fun! :3

Next weekend I get a chance to do something rather unique, which I oddly find exciting. I’ve dug up, cracked out, or otherwise removed dozens of tree stumps in my life. Similarly, I’ve made dozens of bonfires. However, never have I ever burned a stump out from under itself in place. Gonna be fun! :3
For those that don’t know, Riley was the border collie we raised from a puppy, and Tay was his littermate that by a lucky happenstance we adopted a couple years later. They lived long and happy lives. If weren’t for them, we’d of never gotten our homestead back in 2016, or adopted Ransom either :’)
Dad commissioned my Aunt for this piece.
It’s our previous collies, Riley and Tay in spirit form, Talking to Ransom as a puppy.
Riley and Tay passed away a year apart but both were on the same weekend.
A few years later, Ransom was born that same weekend.

For those that don’t know, Riley was the border collie we raised from a puppy, and Tay was his littermate that by a lucky happenstance we adopted a couple years later. They lived long and happy lives. If weren’t for them, we’d of never gotten our homestead back in 2016, or adopted Ransom either :’)

TIL that we’ve technically been using the expression “drank the Kool-Aid” wrong, as actually a cheaper knockoff called “Flavor Aid” was actually used at Jonestown. However, that said, the real Kool-Aid (laced with LSD) was indeed used in the Acid Tests by the Merry Pranksters and others in the 60s!
