Both of our collies passed on the same weekend, 1 year apart. We knew it’d be a notable date we couldn’t ignore. So we turned a sad day into a celebration of life weekend for any friends experiencing loss. To add a new wrinkle to this, Ransom was born the same weekend. Feels full circle now.
Couple cinnamon roll experiments from the weekend. We bought a commercial box of 16 frozen pieces of French bread dough and I’m trying to find other uses beyond just sandwich bread.
Made a pizza and Pistachio, Almond, and Pecan cinnamon rolls.

Washed all of Ransom’s rubber toys yesterday and set them up in a line. He went for PigPig. This particular pig has a thinner skin so it’s easier to grunt, I think that’s why it’s one of his favorite toys to talk to.

Fixed Ransom’s blue herding ball but the inflator died part way through. Ransom didn’t care.

Pretty happy with the truck repair after hitting a deer in November. Insurance totaled the truck, so I bought it back and fixed it myself. The corner of the sheet metal frame was pushed in worse than I thought but I got good enough by pounding and bending. Good excuse to replace the headlights too.

Been going through batteries lately and noticed a number of light weight batteries that show good voltage but won’t power a flashlight. I got curious and decided to x-ray a few batteries. Duracell and Amazon batteries are pretty solid. Not so much the other.

Flood waters are receding a bit. Might be another bump tonight but we should be all good if nothing crazy happens. It looks like at 12’, only the back half of the property gets any water.

Ricky got Ransom to play at the border collie boarder meet and greet. This is only the second dog that he’s intently played with. It was good to see.

Took Ransom to what we’re now calling Colliecopia this Saturday. It was a meet and greet for a potential border collie boarder. Ransom was intimidated at first by all the collies but warmed up pretty quick. Everything went great and he had a lot of fun.

Pretty good holiday. Since we had a long weekend, I didn’t stress about time constraints and focused on beautifying efforts. We pulled hundreds of invasive knapweed and reseeded the holes with native plant seeds. The ground froze on Sunday and Ransom still wanted to go swimming.
