"Researchers found that chatbots trained on Twitter/X posts skipped steps in their reasoning process (or didn’t use reasoning at all), spat out wrong answers and demonstrated ‘dark traits’ such as psychopathy and increased levels of narcissism."

LLMs Can Get "Brain Rot"!
We propose and test the LLM Brain Rot Hypothesis: continual exposure to junk web text induces lasting cognitive decline in large language models (LLMs). To causally isolate data quality, we run contro...

Latest study reported that IVF for women aged 43 and over is only successful with their own eggs 5% of the time. So the only option is to use donor eggs. Which means the baby isn't genetically yours. Why not adopt an older child in need instead?

It costs Canada around $7000 per person per year for healthcare. In 2024, it cost the US around $12,000 per person per year for healthcare. How do the health insurance companies justify demanding that people pay $20,000 per person per year in premiums in 2025?

Another nail in the coffin of "alpha males": several studies have concluded that age, not body size, strength, sex, or aggression level, is the most important factor in deciding who is the leader in any group of dogs: the old, wise dog. This mirrors horses, who are typically led by old, wise mares.

Project 2025 is an explicit statement of overthrowing the US government. Trump admitted on a live recording that he is following Project 2025. Ergo, Trump just admitted to committing treason/insurrection. Trump is automatically thrown out of office via Amendment 14 and should be in handcuffs.

Urgent action:
The EAC is considering requiring voters to show proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote.
Go to the petition and click “comment” and share what you think about requiring a document that most US citizens do not have in order to vote:

The idea that the MMR vaccine should be broken up into three separate shots originally came from Andrew Wakefield, the person who deliberately faked evidence to support the idea that vaccines are harmful. AKA, a really unreliable source.

This is what the Republicans are saying in the initial letters to explain why people's healthcare premiums are going up:

"The extra financial help that was available because of the COVID pandemic ends on December 31."

And in other good news, my old dog's "inoperable" tumor is shrinking quite rapidly in response to generic prednisone. This is good news on many levels because the vet said if the trial of prednisone didn't work, the next drug to try, a TKI, is quite expensive.

Well, in good news, the local grocery store chain is offering $20 off your grocery order in exchange for getting (free for both) a flu and a COVID shot. There was a line. And no, they didn't ask if you were indicated in some way for them. Alive and looking vaguely human was good enough.

Why do the MAGA want to torture pregnant women? Tylenol is the only painkiller known to be completely safe during pregnancy. Under the MAGA, not only do you have to worry about bleeding to death in ERs, now you can't even treat your headaches and back pain. The birth rate will continue to decline.

I wish people would stop studying human nutrition in mice. The ideal mouse diet is mostly carbohydrates and very low in fat because they are granivores. Extrapolating human diets from studies on mice is as nonsensical as using studies on cow diets to guide your cat's diet.

Remember, the claims that the hate-mongering alt-right Kirk was "beloved" by young people are fake: alt-right fake news. Go ask some young people: the vast majority had never heard of him before he got shot, and most of them were repulsed by the things he said.

Someone should show this to Nondr. Brainworm about chronic diseases:
The chance of dying from chronic diseases declined in roughly 150 countries between 2010 and 2019. Some of the biggest drivers of declines in chronic disease death rates were vaccines against hepatitis viruses and HPV.
