I’d missed that Paul Bristow, an obsessive York City fan, is now mayor of Cambridgeshire. One of the weirdest moments in Covid was when Paul, Alan Mak, and a few York-supporting politico types got DCMS to change the entire definition of “elite sport” in a failed attempt to get York promoted.
The emergence of four or five party politics is evident in many of today’s results.
