Just hit my one-year mark at Linear

2024 was packed with projects and other contributions, but I'm even more excited for what's coming next. I reflected on the lessons I learned about design, collaboration, and growth in this article: yannglt.com/writing/lin...
Never neglect edge cases, error states, and connection steps in your app. Here's a recent update we did with @eldh.co on @linear

Not really a surprise, but I missed coding my website. Every morning, I tackle something new or polish what I did the day before, and this just feels good.

Just wrote a post about track records — a place to log major and minor contributions, key milestones, and places that featured your work.

When it comes to build confidence and momentum, it's probably my favorite tool, have a read: yannglt.com/writing/kee...

Started to write “There’s something about” and Siri just completed “[…] the way the world is going to end”.

Hum, are you alright buddy? Do you know something I don’t??

Multifaceted designer is the new Multidisciplinary designer, which was the evolution of Fullstack designer.

→ In 99.9% of cases, it's all bs. But sometimes you actually meet these unicorns, and it rebalances what you think was possible.

These past months I had a lot of conversations on the purpose of personal websites: what the difference with a portfolio? Why investing on it? How to share work if not case studies?

2024 in a minute, merci Internet!

A big S/O to @iamfotzo.bsky.social, @remibonnet.com, and Junior for their feedback while trying to adjust all of these keyframes on beat.

I had to try it

I gave a try to Advanced Voice Mode in ChatGPT this weekend, and it’s just great. As someone who isn’t in his comfort zone when expressing thoughts in written words, turning never-ending draft sessions into a productive conversation really helped me.

Thanks @julianlehr.bsky.social for the tip!

As I get older, one of the things I realise is people reach out to me ONLY wanting something from me. Recently, it’s been about a job (if they can get referrals), how to work remotely, if I can reshare their post. NEVER about how I’m doing. 😮‍💨 It’s always get get get. Tough crowd out there.

Personal website > Portfolio, hands down.

There are true gems hidden among the countless personal blogs scattered across the Internet.

I wish there were a curated library with only great articles on a wide variety of topics—a kind of search engine stripped of all the clutter: no SEO gimmicks, no ads, just quality content.
I feel this with blogging. In case anyone needed to hear this—you can just write and publish on your blog because you want to. No metrics. No clout.

This has always been my guiding principle with my blog (Pawlean.com) which is why 357 posts later, I’m still here. Even if NOBODY reads 😁

Found a new trick to go almost instantly in a flow state: throwing your phone to the nearest couch.

Way too dramatic but efficient.

You either die a quick design explo or you live long enough to become the main component.
