20 years ago, Senator Barack Obama was against gay marriage. Not sure whether gays and allies stayed home, but Obama was elected President in 2008.
By 2013, gay marriage was the law of the land and his administration dropped all objections to it.

I think it says everything about MAGA when they point to Kirk’s shooter using anti-fascist slogans on a bullet and say that means he can’t possibly be a Republican.

Have you ever considered what mass deportation looks like? People scooped up off the streets in late-night raids. Hispanics fearful of congregating in public. Detainees herded into camps pending deportation.

One of the frustrating things about the last 3 months is the silence of leaders. Where is President Obama? Where is President Biden? Where is President Bush? Where is President Clinton? They need to use their voices NOW. The time for comity ended long ago. Show Americans you care.

If we ever recover our democracy from Trump, the first order of business will be to restore trust from our former allies. They’re going to have conditions though- first is structure our election systems so that a right wing demagogue can NEVER take any office in our country again.

I caution people against focusing their vitriol on Musk. One person is allowing him to take the heat for his disastrous regime. If Trump clips Leon’s wings the media and many Americans will support Trump ignoring that Trump is the only reason this is happening. Leon is disposable.

It's disappointing, but unsurprising, how many Democrats are happy to be part of the controlled opposition as long as they keep their standing in their community and the appearance of power. If you showed up at the installment of Trump 1/20, I'm talking about you.

If you're apoplectic about the handful of gender-affirming surgeries on minors (mostly 16-17 yo) but don't have issues with thousands of circumcisions being done to babies (many not even by med professionals) then your issue isn't with genital mutilation, your issue is with trans-people existing.

Can we stop with the GoFundMe's purporting to be for Gaza victims? If you want to support genocide victims do so through organizations like Anera or World Central Kitchen, who are on the ground in Gaza. There's no proof any of the money for these GoFundMe's is going where it's said to be going.

I find it interesting that a CEO of a major company, who has millions in stock options and has a salary of eight figures, didn't seem to have a security detail. Of course UHC under this guy was well-known for minimizing expenses so I guess the leopard bit his face this time

Controversial take, but if Democrats are going to get the young male vote they have to get them laid somehow. There are many women who are looking for partners and are Democrat. Show young men how to meet them and treat them and you've got two lifetime voters. And activists.
