It's tricky - but once you overcome the hurdle, you see more and more people you recognise every year. Your peers become connections and those connections become your friends - and soon it all seems a little less scary and inaccessible.

But one thing I will say is - it can be overwhelming to come to these things and feel like you don't know anyone.
My first Develop I knew maybe 4 people there and I awkwardly wandered around looking for people to latch onto. This was like a decade ago and I still sometimes feel a little lost.
