I cannot stand Yoshi's Island. Awful feeling controls, bad collectables, annoying hit point system, and looks visually worse than other games of its day (all the DKC games look better).

Not to dig up oomfs controversial post but I've been thinking about it for a bit, so here we go. Best Nintendo systems based purely on games. Not ranking Virtual Boy or Pokemon Mini because I've never used either lol
S-tier: Nintendo Switch, Super Nintendo Nintendo Switch has had best-in-class games for almost every one of Nintendo's franchises. It has truly been a remarkable time to be a fan even if I was let down by some things (Luigi's Mansion 3). Super Nintendo, despite it's comparatively short time on the market, had so many gems that it holds up today. Nintendo and Square alone carried, but adding on the other third party publishers like Konami and it's peak. A tier: Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, Wii DS and 3DS are very close but I think the DS struck a better balance between fun first party software and third party software. A lot of experimental games as well. 3DS was the place to be during the early 2010s as all of Nintendo's best stuff was there, but it was only really Nintendo. Wii is also great with a lot of fresh titles like Wii Sports Resort. B tier: Gamecube, Gameboy, Nintendo 64 The Gamecube has a lot of weird black sheep entries, but also some truly stellar titles. Pikmin alone puts it in B tier. The Gameboy is probably my most controversial ranking here but it has a lot of fun high score type games that are worth checking out. Lot of great puzzle games in particular. The N64 is good but it feels like the library is the same 30 great games with not a lot beyond them. C tier: Wii U, NES, Gameboy Advance The Wii U had some great titles, but also a lot of borderline shovelware from Nintendo, especially after 2015. The NES is just kind of old and a lot of the games don't vibe with my Y2K brain but it's cute. Gameboy Advance feels like a Super Nintendo with like two original titles. D tier: Gameboy Color Same problem as the GBA but even worse. Arguably not its own system. omg it baby tier: Nintendo Switch 2 It turns one soon!
