Reading (and loving) this as I watch through Better Call Saul. It really helps get through the clunkier early season episodes. I don’t know if I want Kim Wexler to be my wife, my business partner, my mother, or my lawyer but I just want what’s best for her.

Ya know, I keep waking up thinking each new day can't be worse, but then... This is unconscionable. Bunch of MBA's in administration jobs just shepherding in the end of higher education for a few bucks. I'm glad teaching is part-time thing for me, but saddened how cooked we are societally.

Finally watched Prisoners (2013) and I would like to apply for a (very late) spot on the Villaneuve bandwagon. I feel like I didn’t breathe for two hours. Gyllenhall also remains the most underrated actor and this might be my favorite role of his after Zodiac. Can’t wait to rewatch.

I also just watched Emilia Perez and let’s be serious. Deserves a director nom. and takes some awesome swings but is way too much of a mess for a best picture.

Conclave is my best picture winner now, but I am dying to see the Brutalist. Haven’t wanted to see a movie this bad since KOTFM. The further out I get from the Substance the more I feel it’s not a contender for anything except best actress and maybe original screenplay.

Finally watched Godfather III. And it is definitely a movie that exists. The one nice thing I can say is I thought Andy Garcia was really good!

Forgot to post my game of the year. After finishing DQIII and Metaphor Re:Fantazio. I have decided my GOTY is Xenoblade Chronicles (2010)! Congrats Monolithsoft on your 25th consecutive victory!

I hate the term virtue signaling but that is what this is. Listening to an audiobook is no better or worse than reading it. But it is not reading. I do not understand this. It is not ableist to call reading a different act than listening.

When I someday open my medieval-style traveller’s inn I am going to insist on whale oil lamps. This will most likely bankrupt the business but I refuse for any yelp review of the place to not describe how dank and dark the place is.

Pausing DQIII remake for the annual/perpetual xenoblade replay.
