Hoarhounds disappeared from the Coerthas highlands following the rise of Ishgard. However, after the Calamity, the shift in climate allowed them to descend from their dens. The Fenrir found in Snowcloak, beholden to Lady Iceheart, was named after the spirit-hound from legend.
