A few years back my mother-in-law was ill in hospital. Whilst visiting here I noticed these flags pinned to the wall and wondered why they were there.
Of course they're the flags of the nationalities of the NHS staff that looked after my mother-in-law's ward, without whom we'd not have an NHS.

The irony of so many wrong 'uns having deserted the Tories for Reform is that it's given Starmer much less latitude to attack Badenoch for the lack of moral turpitude of her own front bench (such that one exists these days).

#CausalRacism from Nationwide Building Society & their market research agency Kantar. At the end of a survey I've just completed it asks an ethnicity question, which I'm fine with in principle: just not the order in which the ethnicities are presented. Why aren't the options listed alphabetically?

Had a takeaway from the local Turkish restaurant where we went for New Year. Good grief, I wish I knew the name of their butcher - the quality of all their lamb dishes is superb. The seasoning, the open grill, the marinade may all play their part, but it really is excellent. And the dips! #converted

After reading this I’m now crooning “Piss Away The Skidmarks” to the tune of Roxy Music’s “Dance Away The Heartache” in a Bryan Ferry stylee.
Me and her indoors have our own bathrooms. But once a week while she's out I'll go in hers to piss away the skid marks. It's like putting out the bins isn't it?

This six year contract the new Chelsea manager's been given as evidence of their owners' long-term commitment smacks of the six year contract Man Utd gave Moyes on the same basis. Given the tenure of every other Chelsea manager over the last decade or so, I predict a payoff in about 18 months' time.

Supposed to be on a new year diet, I'm a stone overweight, we've nothing much in (other than masses of uneaten speciality cheeses) & I simply pine for some decent chippy chips.
Can't even run it off tomorrow because of the icy paths / cancelled Parkrun.
