Hello, I've dissected and dubbed-up a rhythm track from my Wrongtom Meets archives. 'One Man Army' features 4 previously unavailable versions of a "massive' instrumental I produced back in 2020.

I'll be donating 50% of proceeds to Doctors Without Borders rongorongorongo.bandcamp.com/album/one-ma...

Which affords me the opportunity to once again share this clip of Morgan Khan and the Jesuit priests who used to teach him, dancing to Junkyard Band at The WAG on an episode of South Of Watford presented by Hugh Laurie in 1986

Just been alerted to this flyer from '92 by @rjjny.bsky.social, and thought it was worth noting that when Rammellzee & K-Rob's Beat Bop dropped the following year, it didn't make any money until it was licensed to Electro 2 by Morgan Khan who was a regular down the WAG
was the dj on the night.i'd seen them play the Venue the previous night.when they came to the Wag for some reason their technics didn't work,so they had to use the Wag's crappy garrard sp25's.. awesome night tho..

1982, amazing line up with Rammellzee and many others at The Wag Club - thanks for sharing @thehipkido.bsky.social

There are some photos from the event by the great Janette Beckman that can be found online (e.g. Futura 2000 here: animalnewyork.com/2023/08/11/n...)

When I asked about the possibility of therapy, a GP suggested I use an online service. I asked him what it was called...

I regularly think about the doctor who did a deep sigh after I said no to all the usual standard questions - do you smoke? Do you drink? Do you take drugs? - and then closed his eyes for a moment like "I'm actually going to have to do some work here"

You learn something new every day and all that jazz. Following yesterday's us3 chat, I'm about halfway through this album and I'm really enjoying it! 🎺

Just had to look it up because I couldn't remember. It turns out it was advertising real fires! 🤔 www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQhy...

That's him. I think he did the ad with the dog, cat and mouse in front of a roaring fire
February 10, 2026 at 12:02 PM
Nope, that was in the 90s by a British director whose name escapes me. He made that nazi film American History X.

Not sure who made the Kleenex ad. Might've been the guy behind the totally deranged Hausu who also directed Japanese adverts

In case you've never seen it, here's the creepy Japanese Kleenex adverts from 1986 which used Jane Lancaster's original version of It's A Fine Day.

Rumour spread that the ad was cursed and members of the crew mysteriously died, and that actor Keiko Matsuzaka was impregnated by a demon 👹

Evening. If you've not considered subscribing to Dubstack yet, so far this month there's 45 mins of 90s dancehall to download, a dub of Joya Landis, and more on it's way tomorrow. It's a fiver a month for access to stacks of dubs, edits, mixes interviews and articles...
Chapter 40 of Dubstack is live. I've shared some thoughts about the minimalism of dancehall, and dug out an old mixtape of 90s ragga favourites. There's also an interview I did back in 2011 for the now defunct Brainer Mag. Have a read/listen here rentparty.substack.com/p/chapter-40...
Chapter 40: Talking Dub
In which I unearth an old mixtape of 90s dancehall, and revisit an interview from 2011.

They're to the left of that screen grab, which has me worried that it rests on me to unite Scottish independence advocates with the Anglican church

Guessing the UK Anglican Church Community haven’t read the latest chapter of Dubstack rentparty.substack.com/p/chapter-40...

Perhaps because they could (or thought they could, at least)?
February 8, 2026 at 12:09 PM
But then there’s 2 Tone’s side of the story too. Dammers has said it was pressed by Chrysalis without their knowledge, and they didn’t want it because it wasn’t a ska/reggae release, so it’s not clear who actually pulled it.
February 8, 2026 at 11:32 AM
The story behind it is disputed. I think Costello’s manager struck up a single deal with Chrysalis (but not Dammers) when he was between labels, but various parties objected and he wound up having to give them away at gigs. His F-Beat label was set up in the vain of 2 Tone soon after

And here’s @wrongtom.bsky.social on Adonis and his 3030
bsky.app/profile/wron...
Yesterday was the 40th anniversary of Adonis buying his 303 aka The Jackulator. I spoke to him about it for a piece I'm writing, but I thought I'd mark the occasion with an acidic tale from my high school back in '88 (and an unsolicited dub mix of Orange Juice) rentparty.substack.com/p/chapter-34...
Chapter 34: We're Dubbing Down The House
In which I celebrate the lesser mentioned 40th anniversary of acid house.
