Was Ovitz’s personal assistant in my early 20s. People talk about how frightening he was but we never exchanged an angry word.

Someone I haven’t spoken to in 20 yrs recently asked if I could get a script to Ovitz. Couldn’t believe they asked (uh, 20 yrs). In same way, haven’t spoken to him in yrs.

How fun (“International Golden Retriever Day”) yesterday in Golden, Colorado (where else?). Thousands of Golden Retrievers & their fur-humans. Today, before Super Bowl, they’re also having a Tailgate 😂🐾

Girlfriend said, “Every time I see your cat, it’s like he’s just had a martini and couldn't care less about the rest of the world."

Huh. Well, he is Very Chill. Rarely gets worked up over stuff. Role model for the rest of us.

Lawyer liked dresses we picked for client at trial. Also asked for hijab scarf as client's Muslim.

Hub to me: “My girlfriend wore one when I studied to be a rabbi, I know what to get."

As some know, he once studied to be Hassidic rabbi. Women wore wigs/scarves. He picked out nice one at GoodWill ⬇️

February, 64° F today (!). Walked around lake where infamous monster carp once lived (part of a 1992 experiment that went awry). Prolific plankton eaters, they grew & grew until a fisherman alerted Colorado wildlife 😱🐟. Removed in 2024.

Now lovely & peaceful, lots of geese.

Lawyer asked me to find dress for client to wear to trial (client’s been in jail for weeks, not a local, no access to clothes). Went to GoodWill* & picked out dresses w/ matching shoes. Total: $20.00

*We’ve been in field & suddenly get lawyer request to go to trial. GoodWill/ARC, etc. save the day!

Recent walks, we noticed this cardboard cutout of animal (mountain lion?) w/ scented rag-tail (scent carries w/ breezes). We guessed it’s to scare off some predator (residences 50+ feet behind this cardboard-something).

Today saw warning (below) of mountain lion activity in area. #Colorado #Jeffco

My mom, librarian for public high school in “tough” part of town, faced those issues every day, too. Library was a sanctuary for some kids (she opened library early, kept it open awhile after school ended). Kept food handy for hungry kids.

I remember visiting & hearing kids call her “Mom."
Never tell a public school teacher that they have no experience. We don’t learn about poverty, hunger, homelessness, crime, and social justice from a book.

We face these issues head on every day in our classrooms.

Our two Rotties. Left: Last summer (Traveller, L, and Aaron Gordon AKA AG, R).

Right: This winter (last week). Traveller L, AG R.

AG has gotten so BIG! He dotes on her. Notice how his paw touches her foot (she’s wearing cone for minor health issue).

How wonderful. I remember my friends & I reading these books as kids (first few of the original stories entered public domain this year).
Volunteer #librarians from around the world joined forces to build the Nancy Drew collection on Open Library—volunteering their time to organize series, verify editions, untangle authorship, and clean up metadata so anyone can discover these books.

Just sent this candle to my girlfriend for her birthday. Quote from Amanda Gorman’s poem “The Hill We Climb." Many of you probably remember her reading this at Biden’s inauguration.

Around 1984, pal at Warner Brothers said, “Hey, want free front-row ticket to see Prince Purple Rain tour?” (L.A.)

Yes!! Wore pretty floor-length flowery dress...discovered rest of front-row girls wore corsets, stiletos, tons of makeup! I looked like petunia in a hot house 😂 but had GREAT time!

Sounds like a naked bar.

(Seriously, this dive bar must’ve had some wild fights lately as they posted these signs everywhere. And everyone was clothed, btw.)

We accidentally got in a Denver portion of bike ride. We were walking on trail bicyclists often use when we heard, “On your left. There’s LOTS of us."

And there were! We stepped aside & watched several 100 ride by, some w/ signs on their backs. They were very cool.

Makes sense, as you may know, as Erie Stanley Gardner's trial lawyer work was defending impoverished people, in particular Chinese & Mexican immigrants. Founded Court of Last Resort, dedicated to helping people unjustly imprisoned/unable to get fair trial.

You know what tv show was ‘woke’ years before Star Trek? Perry Mason… One episode had a white woman as the judge. One had a black man as the judge. The bailiff later was a young black man. Women had their own agency. Asian characters never were stereotypes. If you look up Paul Winfield’s…
